In the high-end market of special cables, ETFE insulated wires have always been benchmark products that combine all-round performance with precise craftsmanship. The full name is ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer cable. As a key player in the fluoroplastic family, it perfectly balances the inert shortcomings of PTFE Teflon and the performance limitations of ordinary PVC and PE wires, making it an irreplaceable preferred choice for wiring under harsh working conditions.
From the perspective of molecular structure, the special chain segments of the alternating copolymerization of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene endow it with comprehensive properties that are balanced to nearly perfect. The temperature resistance range is extremely wide. It can work stably for a long time within the range of -55℃ to 150℃, and can withstand a short-term peak temperature of 200℃. It will not crack or harden in extremely cold environments below zero, and the internal wiring of high-temperature equipment will not soften or deform. It can easily cope with the extreme temperature difference conditions of alternating cold and hot. It has an outstanding electrical insulation capacity, stable dielectric strength, and its insulation performance is almost unaffected by changes in temperature and humidity. With ultra-low leakage and high flame retardancy, it is suitable for the safe wiring of precision circuits and high-voltage small components. Even for high-density bundled wiring, it can avoid electromagnetic interference and ensure the stability of signal and current transmission.
Compared with other fluoroplastic wires, the most outstanding advantage of ETFE is its strong mechanical toughness. Its tensile strength far exceeds that of FEP wire. It is resistant to creep, cold flow, wear and bending. Even after tens of thousands of repeated bends, it is not easy to crack or break. Unlike pure PTFE material, it will not deform under pressure. Even with a fine wire diameter, it can still have solid structural strength. It is particularly suitable for robot moving joints, endoscope micro wire harnesses, and frequent movement wiring scenarios inside instruments. The ultra-thin insulation layer can meet the safety standards and fulfill the lightweight wiring requirements of the equipment. At the same time, it has extremely strong chemical inertness. Strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, lubricating oil, and corrosive water vapor are all difficult to erode the surface. In chemical workshops, new energy battery compartments, and deep-sea exploration equipment, it will not be corroded or aged even after long-term use, and its service life far exceeds that of ordinary high-temperature wires.
